Location Narrative
This is vegetation in a small swale bottom surrounded by annual grassland. Soil is moist beneath the litter. The stand is irregular in shape, following the moisture gradient. There is more Eleocharis at the bottom of the swale where the moisture sits. The upper end of the stand is dominated by Juncus. There are stands similar to this one upstream less than 10 meters away, where constrictions in the drainage bring moisture to the stand.
